Linda J. (Machado) Borges, 55, of New Bedford died November 27, 2006 unexpectedly at home.
Born in Brookline, the daughter of Florence (Simpson) Machado of New Bedford and the late John Machado, she lived in New Bedford most of her life.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, crocheting and knitting hats for newborn babies at St. Luke's Hospital.
Survivors include her mother; her lifelong companion, Peter Cook of Acushnet; 2 sons, Zebulon Borges of Fall River and James Borges, III of Kissimmee, FL; 2 daughters, Kimberly Borges of Guyan, Ohio and Wendy Lucio of Penacook, NH; 2 brothers, John Machado of Cape Cod and Jay Machado of New Bedford; 2 sisters, Janis Machado of Boston and Carol Machado of New Bedford; 9 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 1st at 10 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford. Her family will receive guests on Friday from 8-10 AM prior to her service. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery.
