Obituary

Olympia M. (Caprio) DeLuca, A life-long Medford resident, died Tuesday morning at Life Care Center of Stoneham. She was 83.


Born and raised in Medford, Olympia was the daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine (Cieri) Caprio. A dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many, Olympia worked as a stitcher for many years at the former Meltzer Sports Wear in Medford. Olympia was an active member of the Medford Senior Citizens Club.


She was the beloved wife of the late Albert R. DeLuca. She was a devoted mother to Carol Passacantilli of Medford and her late husband Albert, Geraldine Chiarenza and her husband Joe of Woburn, Paula Bernazzani and her husband Stephen of Medford. She was a loving grandmother to six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was a dear sister to the late Larry Caprio, Emma Domenico, Michael Caprio and Louise Caliendo.


Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Friday at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, at 9 AM, with the Rev’d Dom Benet Philps, OSB, presiding. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
