Ethel M. Carran, of Woburn for over forty years, died Novenber 25th, at the Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston following a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Chester I. Carran Jr. Born in Medford she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret (Foley) Murphy.
Mrs. Carrran was a retired manager and worked for the SS Pierce Co. of Woburn for over twenty years. Mostly devoted to her family, Mrs. Carran enjoyed spending the summers with family in Seabrook, NH, traveling to Florida and spending Saturday nights with her girlfriends. She also enjoyed occasional trips to the casino.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Carran is preceded in death by her brother, Walter Murphy.
She is survived by her children, Chester I. Carran III and Lynda Pelton and her husband John all of Woburn. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Jackie, Cheryl and Stacey and great granddaughter Kara. She is further survived by her brother, John Murphy of Florida and sister, Rita Arseneaux of Burlington.
Funeral from the McLaughlin – Dello Russo Funeral Home 60 Pleasant St. Woburn, Thursday at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Charles Church 280 Main St. Woburn, at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Woburn.
