Obituary
Mrs. Washburn died Thursday evening at St. Joseph’sA Manor in Brockton after a period of failing health. She was born in Brockton, daughter of the late Austin J. and Ruth G. (Hume) McDonnell and remained a life long resident of Brockton. She was a graduate of Brockton High School Class of 1945. She also attended Bryant and Stratton College in Boston. For over 35 years she worked in the office of the late Dr. Eli E. Leeder in Brockton as a secretary and a medical assistant and then she helped her brother Fran McDonnell operate the pro-shop at D.W. Field Golf Course, retiring in 1993 after 15 years.
She enjoyed wintering in Madeira Beach, Florida and summers at Kennebunkport, Maine. Long time communicant of St. Edward Church.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years Ralph F. Washburn Two brothers Francis X. McDonnell of Brockton and Austin J. “Bud” McDonnell, Jr. of Pahrump, NV., an aunt Claire (Hume) of Boudreau, FL and an uncle Lawrence Hume of Brockton
