Obituary

Virginia M. “Ginger” (Venuti) DiSalvo, of Woburn, passed away at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington, on Wednesday, November 22, following a lengthy illness. The wife of Joseph A. DiSalvo for the past forty-eight years.

Born seventy years ago, in Boston she was the daughter of Frances (Falco) Venuti of East Boston and the late Frank Venuti. Ginger graduated East Boston High School class of ”53” and later continued her education at Middlesex Communiity College where she received an accounting degree. She settled in Woburn with her husband Joseph thirty-eight years ago.

Ginger as she was affectionately known, has been a active parisioner at St. Barbaras Parish serving on several church committees, being a eucharistic minister and a daily comunicant. She was a retired chief financial officer of a consulting company, an avid bridge player and loved Cape Cod. Her greatest joy were her grandchildren to whom she was extremely devoted.

Along with her husband and mother she is survived by daughter Dina Miller of Chelmsford, her sons Matthew DiSalvo and his wife Patricia of Norwood and Mark DiSalvo of Bourne. She was the loving grandmother of adoring grandchildren Micaela, Samantha, Ryan and Peter.

Her funeral will be held from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St. Woburn on Tuesday, November 28 at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Barbara Church at 10. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

Services will conclude with burial at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.

Visting hours at the funeral home on Monday, November 27, from 3 thru 7.

In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be sent in Ginger´s memory to St, Barbara Church, 138 Cambridge Rd. Woburn, MA 01801
