NEW BEDFORD - Edward Donald Pacheco Sr., 76, of 137 Stockton St., Fall River, died Sunday at the New Bedford Rehabilitation Center. He was the former husband of Genevieve (Freitas) Pacheco of Westport. He is survived by Six Sons: Steven Pacheco of Florida, Charles Pacheco of Westport, MA., Wayne Pacheco of Westport, MA., Edward Pacheco, Jr. of Westport, MA., Glenn Pacheco of Falmouth, MA., and Gary Pacheco of California; Four Daughters: Barbara Maynard of Fall River, MA., Caroline Herndon of Somerset, MA., Susan Brousseau of Warren, RI., and Sandra Givens of Tiverton, RI; Three Brothers: Alfred Pacheco of Fall River, MA., William Pacheco of Fall River, MA., and Daniel Pacheco of New Hampshire; Two Sisters: Rose Pacheco of Fall River, MA. and Alice Pelletier of Fall River, MA; Dear Friend: Sharon Eckersley of Fall River, MA; Twenty-Three Grandchildren, Fourteen Great Grandchildren, and Many nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Edmund, Manuel, and Alcide Pacheco, Loretta Souza, and Mary Proc.
Born in Fall River, the son of the late Manuel Pacheco and the late Mary (Correia) Pacheco. He briefly resided in Fall River, previously residing in Westport. He was retired for over 30 years and had previously worked in Janitorial for Maplewood Cleaning. He was U. S. Marine Corps Veteran of the Korean Conflict.
His funeral will take place in the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 No. Main St. on Saturday at 9:00 A.M., followed with a funeral service at 10:00 A.M. Calling Hours Friday 7-9 P.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery.
