LOIS EVELYN (HAWES) WILLIAMS, age 99 years, 6 months and 9 days, a Hingham resident for over 50 years, died on Sunday, Nov. 19th at the Cardigan Nursing Home in Scituate. She was born in Natick in 1907, where her father was the manager of the Harwood baseball factory. She graduated from Dana Hall School in Wellesley and Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in Boston and worked as a secretary at Raymond and Whitcomb Travel Agency, Wellesley High School, and the Natick Five Cent Savings Bank. In 1935 she married Roger Hargreaves Williams and for the next 25 years, during his army service, they moved their family 19 times back and forth across the country before settling in Hingham where they designed and built their dream home. It took two more work related moves to St. Paul, Minnesota and St. Louis, Missouri, however, before they finally retired to their home in Hingham. Lois loved reading, traveling, history and genealogy. She was a member of the Massachusetts Society of Mayflower Descendants, the Alden Kindred of America, and the Pilgrim John Howland Society.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children; David H. Williams of Inverness, Florida, John W. Williams of Punta Gorda, Florida and Alicia C. Williams of Hingham. Also survived by 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will be conducted on Wednesday, Nov. 22nd at 10 AM at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham.

The interment will be in the Pine Hill Cemetery, Cemetery Lane, Sherborn, MA on Wednesday at 12:30 PM.
