Fall River - Zola G. Reed, 80, of Westport died November 20, 2006 after a brief illness at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of Dana Reed.
Mrs. Reed was born in Fall River, daughter of the late Norman W. and Martha C. (Wordell) Kirby and resided in Westport all of her life. She was a graduate of Westport High School, Class of 1944 and of Bryant College, of RI.
She was employed by the Fall River Savings Bank and was manager of the Westport Branch when it opened. She was later employed by STARRR in Fall River.
She was a former member of the Westport Woman’s Club, holding the office of President from 1970 to 1972. She was a former member of the Westport Art Group, and also a member of the Pilgrim Bassett Hound Club.
Mrs. Reed was a lover of animals especially fond of her two basset hounds, Mike and Mandy. She was a very talented artist, painting many scenes of Westport including many homes in the area. She also did knitting to perfection.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by 3 sons: Lynwood W. Reed of Stafford Springs, CT, Norman A. Reed of Monroe, ME and Mark K. Reed of Westport; 2 sisters: Wilma C. Woodruff of Westport and Brenda G. Sylvia of Adamsville, RI; a brother: William “Bill” Kirby of Waldo, ME; 2 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
