Blanche J. Floody, 78, formerly of Green Lake Drive, Greenville, died Saturday at Kent County Hospital in Warwick. She was the widow of Raymond V. Floody.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late William & Martha (Johnson) Ford. She had graduated from Central High School in 1948. She had been employed in the business offices of Kennedy’s Department Store and Providence Gas Company from which retired after 28 years.
She was a communicant of St. Philip Church and had been a resident of Greenville for 50 years.
She is survived by a sister, Elsie (Ford) Carpenter, brother-in-law George of Cranston, nephews, William, Robert, Neal and Steven Carpenter, James, Thomas, and Kenneth Ford and a niece, Beverly Arabian. She was the sister of the late Veronica Ford, James Ford, and Hilda Yaghjian.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 9:30am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnum Pike, Smithfield. Interment private. Visitation Monday 4-7pm in the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to St. Philip Church, 622 Putnum Pike, Smithfield, RI 02828 or the American Heart Association, 222 Richmond Street, Providence, RI 02903.
