Joseph Robert Genest age 80 of Salem, NH, died Thursday morning at his home in Salem, NH.
He was born in Lawrence, MA, grew up and was educated in Malden, MA. Mr. Genest was a resident of Salem, NH for the past 10 years, formerly of Methuen, MA.
Mr. Genest was a retired carpenter for the Local Union 111, working at the Internal revenue Service in Andover, MA. He was a member of St. Matthew’s Church in Windham, NH, and was a member of the Holy Name Society at St. Theresa’s Church in Methuen, MA. He loved crossword puzzles, and listening to classical music especially Pavorotti.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years: Theresa C. (Caron) Genest of Salem, NH

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 AM at St. Matthew Church, Windham, NH. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen, MA.
Calling hours will be held Sunday for 3-5 PM only at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main Street, Salem, NH.
