Joseph J. DeStratis,Jr.,60, formerly of 598 Henshaw St., in the
Rochdale section of Leicester, died Wednesday, Nov. 15 in Addison, Tx. after
being stricken ill.
He leaves six brothers and sisters Barbara, Daniel and Susan DeStratis all
of Rochdale, Diane and Ron Connors of Worcester, Theresa and Stephen DeRoy
of Douglas and George and Heather DeStratis of Bridgeport, Tx., several
nieces and nephews.
He was born in Worcester, the son of Joseph J. and Shirley J. (Greiner)
DeStratis, Sr. and lived in Richmond, Va. for 25 years before moving to Tx.
in 2000.
Joe graduated from the Art Institute of Boston in 1967, and was a computer
graphic artist, working for Business Express in Addison. He once served in
the U.S. AirForce Reserves. His life's work was spent creating computer
graphic designs. He enjoyed making stained glass and playing basketball. The
oldest brother of seven, he was greatly respected by his siblings for his
wisdom and direction.
Funeral services and burial will take place at a later date and at the
convenience of the family. MORRISON-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main
