Emil E. Petrosso, age 86, of Arlington formerly of Medford and Dennis, died November 17th at the Newton Wellesley Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Anna (Piazza). Born in Fall River he was the son of the late Joseph and Janny (Ferrara) Petrosso.
Mr. Petrosso was a retired Baker. He worked for many years with the Piantedosi Bakery and also worked for many years at his family bakery in Dennisport, the E-Z Bakery. Mr. Petrosso was a United States Army Veteran of WWII serving in the Western Pacific. Mr. Petrosso was a devoted family man and enjoyed spending time fishing, having a cigar and following the Boston Celtics and Red Sox. He was an avid fan of all Boston´s major sports.
In addition to his late parents, Mr. Petrosso is predeceased by his brother , the late Louis Petrosso. He is survived by his beloved wife Anna and their children, Janet Zildjian and her husband Zaven of Watertown, Palma DiMare and her husband Richard of FL, Rose Borchers and her husband Robert of Stoneham, Joseph Petrosso and his wife Kimberly of Barnstable. He was the loving grandfather of Mark, Armen, and Michael Zildjian, Dianna Manoogian, Daryl DiMare, Darah Dawson, Janel Johnson, and Luca Petrosso. He is also survived by seven loving great grandchildren and is further survived by his sisters Helen Cetola and Laura Snead, and brothers Armand and Joseph Petroso.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Tuesday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Fellsway West, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Emil’s memory to the VA GRECC Outpatient Clinic, Bedford VA Hospital, 200 Spring Rd. Bedford, MA 01730.
