Obituary

Samuel H. Rabinovitz, a resident of Lowell, formerly of Chelsea & Tewksbury, died on November 20, 2006 at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Bedford. He was 83 years old.

Born in Chelsea, the son of the late David and Rose Rabinovitz, Sam was raised and educated in the Chelsea Public Schools, graduating from Chelsea High School in 1941. He enlisted in the United States Navy on March 7, 1944 and served honorably until his discharge on July 20, 1945. After returning from his war service, Sam went to work as a ship fitter at the Charlestown Navy Yard until his retirement. He was a member of the Elm St. Shule in Chelsea.

Sam is survived by his brother, Joseph Rabinovitz of Lowell.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at 11:00 AM in the AAA Sfard Cemetery, Lakeshore Dr. Lynn. Those wishing to remember Sam may do so through memorial donations to the Community Residential Care Program, Attn: Volunteer Services, Bedford VA Hospital, 200 Springs Rd. Bedford, MA 01730.
