WORCESTER-Florence J. (Plouffe) Haynes, 88, of 39B First Street died Sunday, December 2nd in Clark Manor Nursing Home. Her husband of 42 years was Ralph W. Haynes died in 1974. She leaves 2 daughters Shirley H. Manthorne of Monroe, CT and Linda Scott of Great Barrington, MA, 2 sisters; Lillian Franklin of Hemet, CA and Loretta Trudell of San Jacinto, CA, her daughter-in-law Beverly Haynes of Leicester, 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, many nephews and a niece. Her son Ralph W. Haynes of Leicester died in 1990 and a brother Frank Plouffe predeceased her.
She was born in Hopedale the daughter of Frank and Josephine (Lesko) Plouffe and had lived in Worcester for many years. She had been employed for many years in the actuarial department of State Mutual Insurance Company, now known as All America Financial for many years, retiring in 1966. She was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church, the 39’ers Club. She enjoyed travel, gardening and her visits to Cape Cod.
The funeral will be Thursday, December 6th from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday, December 5th from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
