Henry C. ”Harry” Lane, 82, died Wednesday, November 15th peacefully at his home after a period of failing health. He was the husband of Carole (Gumbert) Lane.
Born in Weymouth, son the late Calvin and Prudence (Waugh) Lane, a graduate of St Mary’s in Newton.
He was a veteran of the Calvary Division of the United States Army.
Henry was a heavy equipment operator and 50 year member of Local 4 operating engineers.
Henry was known for his wonderful sense of humor and the enjoyment found in his family, friends and his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Carole,2 sons Calvin and Brian Lane ,his daughter Colleen Lane-Richards,2 brothers and 5 sisters, Thomas and Vincent Lane, Madeline Hagen, Mary Furgarlack, Kay Errickson, Prudy Carrier ,Agnes Wesley. Also four grandchildren. He was also the brother of the later Claire DeMaio and grandfather of the late Amy Lee Lane
His funeral will be held Sunday November 19that 1:00 P.M. in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Route 58 at the Rotary Circle) Whitman, MA. Burial will be at a later date.
