Steven G. Santos, 47, of Rochester, died Wednesday November 15, 2006 at Tobey Hospital after a six year battle with cancer. He was the husband of Jill (Kiely) Santos.
Born in New Bedford, the son of Albino and Delores (Ferreira) Santos of Dartmouth, he lived in Dartmouth for most of his life. He had resided in Rochester for the past eight years.
He was a parishioner of St. Rita's Church in Marion.
Mr. Santos was the Vice President of Regal House Furniture, a family-owned business in New Bedford.
He was a graduate of Bishop Stang High School and Stonehill College, where he played baseball. He enjoyed cycling and hiking. He was a devoted father who was deeply involved in the activities of his children.
Survivors include his wife and parents; two daughters, Paige and Brooke; a sister, Debra Holden and her husband Bruce of Rochester; two brothers, Thomas Santos and his wife Beth of Melrose, and David Santos and his wife Ellen of Charlotte, VT; and nieces and nephews, Derek and Nicole Holden, Brent, Nicholas, Zachary, and Olivia Santos, Conor and Patrick Kiely, and Kathleen O'Hara.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:30 AM in St. Joseph's Church, Fairhaven. Burial will be private. Visiting hours Friday 4-8 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals, 50 County Rd. (Rt. 6), Mattapoisett.
