Obituary

Ruth (Franke) Morantz, 88, a resident of Chelsea and longtime former resident of Brookline died on November 16, 2006 at the Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home.

Born in Boston, the daughter of the late Alfred Franke and Rose (Korisky) Franke Weinberg, Ruth was raised in Boston and a graduate of the Boston Public School System. She was employed as a clerk for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts until her retirement. Wife of the late Isadore "Izzy" Morantz, Ruth was devoted to her dear husband, and together they were extremely involved in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Office of Elder Affairs working diligently as advocates for the elderly around the Commonwealth. Ruth was also a loyal member of Hadassah, the Retired Jewish Civil Service Organization, and numerous other senior citizen organizations.

Ruth is survived by numerous cousins.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday, November 17, 2006 at 12:00 Noon at the Boylston Lodge Cemetery, 776 Baker St. West Roxbury. Rabbi Alan Turetz of Temple Emeth, Chestnut Hill will officiate.
