Obituary

FALL RIVER - Jose Da Silva Peixoto, 90, of Old Fall River Rd., No. Dartmouth, formerly of 409 Lindsey St. Fall River, MA, died Wednesday in No. Dartmouth at his Daughter’s Home. He was the husband of the late Brazelina Conceicao (Araujo) Peixoto for 67 years. He is survived by 2 Sons: Gil Da Silva Peixoto of Westport and Joseph John Peixoto of Somerset; 2 Daughters: Alda Maria Ronan of Hercules, CA and Hilda Francisco of No. Dartmouth, MA, 10 Grandchildren, 9 Great-grandchildren, and Several Nieces and Nephews. He was the father of the late Manuel Da Silva Peixoto, the Grandfather of the late John Peixoto, the brother of the late Adelaide Peixoto Franco, Manuel Da Silva Peixoto, and Alfred Da Silva Peixoto.

Born in Lombas, Mosteiros, Sao Miguel, Azores the son of the late Antonio Da Silva Peixoto and the late Mariana (Araujo) Peixoto. He was a resident of Fall River for 52 years, before moving to No. Dartmouth to live with his daughter for the last two years. Before retiring, he worked as a Spreader for the former Slater Dye Works of Pawtucket, RI. He was a member of St. Michael Church and a member of the Affonso Costa Republican Club for 54 years, serving as a Trustee for over 25 years. He was also an avid fan of the Benfica of Portugal Soccer Team.

His funeral, along with his Wife’s, will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 No. Main St., Fall River, MA on Saturday at 9:00 A.M., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling Hours Friday 5-9 P.M.
