Obituary

Laconia-Yvette M. Maheux, 92, of 406 Court Street, formerly of Batchelder Street, Laconia died Wednesday afternoon, November 15th, 2006 at St. Francis Healthcare Center after a brief illness.

Yvette was the daughter of the late Leodore and Mathilda (Rodrique) Doyon. She was born in Thetford Mines, Quebec, Canada on May 11, 1914, and had been a resident of Laconia for most of her life.

Yvette was a dedicated and loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending her time with her family. She was support to her husband in his business and raised her 5 children during tough times with grace and courage. She truly enjoyed people. She was generous, caring, loving, and blessed with an awesome sense of humor. She also enjoyed music. She was warm and welcoming to everyone.

Yvette was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and a member and past officer of the Ladies of St. Anne. She was also a member of the Les Dames Canados and the Ladies of the Sacred Heart.

Yvette was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Lionel J. Maheux in 1998, and by a son Leo W. Maheux in 1996. Her three brothers Roland, Armand, and Wilson Doyon also predecease her.

Yvette is survived by two sons, Raymond A. Maheux and his wife Elizabeth of Carson City, NV, Roland L. Maheux and his wife Carole of Jericho, VT; two daughters, Arline M. Chapman and her husband Nathan of Pembroke, Alice E. Allen and her husband Richard of Laconia; a daughter-in-law, Elaine R. Maheux of Grand Isle, VT; two sisters, Madeline T. Minnon and her husband George of Laconia, and Irene Leroux of Laconia. 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews also survive Yvette.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday November 18th, 2006 at Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Avenue Laconia at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Adrien R. Longchamps pastor of the church will celebrated the mass. Burial followed in the family lot at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Garfield Street, Laconia. Visiting hours were Friday November 17th, 2006 from 2-4 & 6-8pm at the Simoneau-Paquette Memorial, 139 Church Street, Laconia. Family and friends were invited to attend.

For those who wish, the family suggests expressions of sympathy in Yvette’s name may be made to the St. Francis Healthcare Center Activity Fund for the benefit of entertaining the residents, 406 Court Street, Laconia, NH 03246.
