Sister of Anita Chapman of Hanson, Rita Keefe of Mashpee and the late Robert, Ronald, William and Patrick Meehan.
Funeral from The Conley Funeral 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Monday at 8am. Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 9am. Burial in Melrose Cemetery. Visiting hours Sunday 2-5 pm.

Barbara J.”Babs” (Meehan) Bailey 75 years died Sunday at Life Care Center of West Bridgewater after a battle with colon cancer. She was the wife for 48 years of Frederick A. Bailey.
She was born and raised in Boston, the daughter of the late William and Margaret (Magee) Meehan. Mrs. Bailey was a resident of Brockton for the past 38 years and previously lived in Dorchester. She was a graduate of Roxbury Memorial High School Class of 1948. Mrs. Bailey had been a homemaker who stayed at home to raise her family and previously worked as a legal secretary in Boston for 13 years.As a young girl she had studied music and enjoyed singing and performing.
She was an avid reader and was an English and writing major in high school. She also enjoyed ballroom dancing. Mrs. Bailey loved to vacation in Sandwich and West Yarmouth in the summer. She also enjoyed trips to Foxwoods, Atlantic City and her weekly visit to the Raynham Dog Track every Sunday. She very much enjoyed shopping and going out to restaurants with her daughter Karen.
In addition to her husband of 48 years she is survived by a daughter, Karen Bailey of Brockton and a son, David Bailey of Raynham, her grandchildren, Krystle Price, Breanna and Brendan Bailey and a great grandson Sean Price, two sisters, Anita Chapman of Hanson and Rita Keefe of Mashpee and many nieces and nephews.
Sister was the sister of the late Robert, Ronald, William and Patrick Meehan.
