Alma Jean McCurdy McCall, 71, of Largo, Florida, formerly of Tifton, died Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at Palm Gardens of Largo in Largo, Florida. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2006, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. John S. Gibbs, Sr. will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Bobby Greer, Jonathan Greer, Lonnie McCurdy, Von Taylor, Wayne Welch and Kevin Walters will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 17, 2006, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Ms. McCall was born on August 15, 1935 in Gwinnett County and was the daughter of James Victor McCurdy and Alma Minnie Franklin McCurdy, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by one sister and two brothers. She was a retired teller at the C & S Bank of Tifton (now Bank of America) and she was of the Baptist faith.
Ms. McCall is survived by her husband of 53 years, Charles Bennie McCall of Tifton; one son and daughter-in-law, Charles "Wayne" McCall and Iris Fletcher McCall of Omaha, Nebraska; one daughter and son-in-law, Donna Charlene and Ted Moskowitz of Clearwater, Florida; two brothers, Harvey F. McCurdy of Saint Petersburg, Florida and Richard McCurdy, of Saint Petersburg, Florida; and one grandson, Daniel Scott McCall of Omaha, Nebraska.
