John T. Manchester Sr, 68, a 43 year resident of East Bridgewater died at the Life Care Center in West Bridgewater on Nov. 11, 2006.
Born in Brockton, he was a son of the late Ralph & Evelyn (Jansen) Manchester. He was raised in Easton, & was a 1956 graduate of Oliver Ames High School.
Mr. Manchester graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1960. He earned his MBA from Northeastern University in 1968.
He was a retired Vice President of Exergy Corporation in Hanson, retiring in 2004.
He was an Aircraft owner as well as a pilot, & was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association (E.A.A.).
Mr. Manchester was a Mason & a member of the Paul Revere Lodge in Brockton. He was a member of the Greater Brockton Camera Club. He was a past member of the East Bridgewater School Committee, & the Finance Committee.
He enjoyed photography, flying his plane, traveling fishing & history.
Mr. Manchester was the beloved husband of Lorena (Douglas), father of John T. Manchester Jr. of Duxbury, Stephen P. Manchester of Raynham & Kenneth P. Manchester of Taunton. Brother of David J. Manchester of Melbourne, FL, & Judith Bougas of Rutland VT. Also survived by his grandchildren, Ina, Emily, Joseph, & Michael.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday in the Prophett Funeral Home 98 Bedford St. (RT 18) at 10:00AM. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, W. Bridgewater. Visiting hours are on Wednesday from 4-8Pm.
