Obituary

FRANKLIN-- Mary M. (Filosa) Bassignani 91, a longtime resident of Franklin died Monday November 13, 2006 at the Milford Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Olindo M. Bassignani who died in 1975.
Born in Milford, September 5, 1915 a daughter of the late Frank and Savina (Nigro) Filosa, she lived in Milford with her family in her early years before settling in Franklin.
Mrs. Bassignani was educated in Milford schools, and for nearly 20 years worked in the kitchen at the former Wrentham State School until her retirement in 1976.
She was a member of the Franklin Senior Citizens, the American Association of Retired Persons, St. Mary’s Church in Franklin, and The Quattro Eroi Lodge in Franklin #1414 Sons of Italy. She also enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by a son, John P. Bassignani of Franklin 2 daughters Linda M. Sullivan of Franklin and Rosemary Fontana and her husband Frank of Franklin, 1 brother Victor Filosa of Florida.
She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late Ross, Nick, Joseph and Frank Filosa and Bridget Brown. She was the mother-in-law of the late Fredrick J. Sullivan.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Thursday November 16, 2006 at 9:45AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin followed by a funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Church 1 Church Sq. at 10:30AM. Interment will follow in the family lot in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Calling hours are Wednesday November 15, 2006 from 4-8PM at the funeral home.
