Irving S. Lincoln, 87, of Rehoboth formerly of Attleboro died on Saturday November 11, 2006 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, MA
Born in Attleboro, MA on November 26, 1918 he was a loving son of the late Norman C. and Alma (Estes) Lincoln.
He was raised and educated in Attleboro. Mr. Lincoln was employed for many years at the Wrentham State School and was a Commonwealth of Massachusetts retiree.
Irv served in the United States Army during WWII. He received numerous medals and citations for his performance and bravery. Mr. Lincoln always considered his greatest accomplishment in life was his service to his beloved country. He attended many veterans affairs with a feeling of always being welcome.
He was also an ardent reader who especially enjoyed western mystery stories. He had lived in Rehoboth for over 35 years and was a former resident of Attleboro for many years.
He is survived by his loving nieces Judith E. Jones of Rehoboth, Jeannette S. Wynne of Elk Horn, Kentucky and Linda L. Raulino of Colorado. Also survived by several great nieces and nephews and several great grand nieces and nephews. Mr. Lincoln was predeceased by his dear brother Norwood F. Lincoln.
Funeral services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Thursday November 16th at 11:00 A.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral home 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton. Burial will follow in the Winnicunitt Cemetery, Norton.
