Obituary

James E. Sullivan of Hyde Park died on Friday, November 10th at Caritas Norwood Hospital. He was 75 years old. Born in Fitchburg, he was the son of the late Jessie A. (Mahoney) and James C. Sullivan. Mr. Sullivan was a U.S. Army, Korean War veteran. During the war he was a member of the 7th Armored Division attached to the 502nd Recon Platoon. He was a recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, Presidential Unit Citation and United Nations Service Medal. He was a former employee of Sears and Roebuck in Boston and Jomar Distributors in Watertown. Mr. Sullivan was the dear father of Patricia, James Jr., Joseph and William Sullivan and the loving brother of Eileen A. Sullivan of Millis, Marilyn E. Leavy of Winthrop and the late Richard Sullivan. Also survived by 5 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Longtime companion of Carol Walsh of Hyde Park. Funeral Mass and Interment at MA. National Cemetery in Bourne are private. In lieu of flowers donations in Jim’s name may be made to the New England Shelter for Homeless Veterans, 17 Court St., Boston MA 02108.
