Obituary

Lucille G. Poirier, 78, of North Smithfield, formerly of Woonsocket, died Friday at Hospice St. Antoine in North Smithfield. She was the wife of the late Edward A. Poirier.
Born in Blackstone, she was a daughter of the late Josphat and Anna (Morrisseau) Lussier. She was a resident of Woonsocket for over 60 years.
Mrs. Poirier worked a cashier for Almacs in Woonsocket for many years. She previously worked for several area mills.
She was a longtime communicant of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church and was a member of the Ladies Sodality at the church.
She is survived by three daughters, Jean Fournier, of Charlestown, Rita Burke, of Somerset, and Vivian Lemoine, of Arizona, 5 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Henry Lussier, Ovide Lussier and Eva Blanchette.
Her funeral will be Tuesday at 10 am from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Man St., Woonsocket, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Park Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are Monday from 4-7 pm. Donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 61 Broadway, New York, NY, 10006.
