WORCESTER: Harold M. “Hal” Whitehair, age 49, a Worcester resident, died unexpectedly on Saturday, November 4, 2006 at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center.
Born in Painesville, Ohio on July 12, 1957, he was the son of the late Charles P. and Janet M. (Palko) Whitehair.
Mr. Whitehair was raised in Painesville, Ohio
He attended Perry, Ohio schools and graduated from Perry High School in 1975.
In 1976, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served for 4 years until his honorable discharge in 1980.
Following his military service, he attended Devry College and the Ohio State University.
Mr. Whitehair was employed as an engineering manager for the Intel Corporation of Hudson, where he worked for 19 years.
While living in Ohio, he was a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Painesville
According to his family, he was an avid Cleveland Browns Football and Cleveland Indian Baseball fan. In addition, he enjoyed watching Ohio State Athletic Events.
He is survived by one son; Richard P. Whitehair of Summerville, SC; his fiance’; Haydee G. Romano of Worcester; one sister Joanne M. Green and her husband Gary of Cushing, OK; one brother; James A. Whitehair and his wife Marsha of Norfolk, VA; three nephews; Jason D. Hickman, Adam P. Whitehair and Brandon D. Hallem; one niece; Sarah M. Hickman.
Calling hours will be held Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury. Funeral Monday at 9 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury.
