Margaret “Vicki” Sergi, 54 of Londonderry, NH, died Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at home following a courageous battle with cancer. Mrs. Sergi was born in Boston, MA on March 14, 1952, a daughter of Margaret “Peggy” (Parker) Alfieri and the late Chester Tomczuk. She grew up in the North End of Boston and graduated from Julie Billiard High School in Boston. Mrs. Sergi had worked for the federal government for many years. In 1986 she and her husband moved to Londonderry to raise their family. She was a communicant of St. Mark Church in Londonderry and a member of their eternal adoration society. Mrs. Sergi also belonged to Emotions Anonymous. She enjoyed helping people and was a volunteer for Caregivers in Londonderry. While in high school she had worked as a candy striper at Cambridge Hospital, and recently had received training to become a certified nurses assistant and was planning on going back to work. She took great care and pride in being a mother to her children.
In addition to her mother of Winthrop, MA she is survived by her husband, Richard L. Sergi of Londonderry, a daughter, Pamela A. Sergi of Londonderry, a son, Nicholas R. Sergi of Londonderry, a sister, Lisa Sarro and her husband Ernie of Winthrop, and five nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Chester Tomczuk, her stepfather, Albert Alfieri and her brother Chester "Chet" Tomczuk.
Visiting hours were held on Sunday, November 12, 2006 from 4 - 7pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Monday, November 13th at 10:00am in the St. Mark Church, corner of Mammoth Rd. and South Rd., Londonderry. The burial followed in Pillsbury Cemetery, Londonderry. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney St., Boston, MA 02115.
