Donald G. Fagan, Sr., 70, of Norton died on Thursday November 9, 2006 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, R.I. He was the beloved husband of Catherine I. (Titus) Fagan to whom he was wed to for 45 years.
Born in Jeffrey, New Hampshire on September 30, 1936 he was a dear son of Madeline (Peaslee) Fagan of Mansfield and the late Vincent Fagan.
Educated in Mansfield schools he was a 1955 graduate of Mansfield High School. He had served in The U.S. Army National Guard for 10 years. Mr. Fagan was a retired Book Binder having worked for the Halliday Lithograph Co. in Carver for 30 years before retiring 11 years ago. He had formerly worked at the Plympton Press Co. in Norwood from 1955-1965.
Don had a knack for building and used his talents by building cribbage boards and furniture amongst other things. He had lived in Norton for the past 45 years and was formerly of Mansfield.
In addition to his beloved wife and dear mother he is survived by his devoted children; Pamela Jean Shumate of Northbridge, Paula Ann Welch and her husband Robert of Whittinsville and Donald G. Fagan, Jr. and his wife Kelly-Jean of Attleboro. His brothers Lawrence V. Fagan of Florida, Steven F. Fagan of Yarmouthport and Timothy S. Fagan of Mansfield. His cherished grandchildren; Mark Welch, Nicholas Welch, Brandon Welch, Benjamin Shumate, Chanel Shumate, Alexa Fagan and Brett Fagan. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Tuesday November 14th at 11:00 A.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton. Private burial will be at a later date.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday November 13th from 6-9 P.M. at the funeral home.
