Obituary

Manuel S. Rosa, 69, died at the Brockton Hospital on Sunday, November 5 after a period of failing health. He was the husband of Regina R. (Rodrigues) Rosa. Son of the late Francisco S. and Maria Socorro (Miranda) Rosa, he was born and educated in Cape Verde. He was a resident of Stoughton for 2 years. He was a retired Assembly Technician for Nabisco. Mr. Rosa was a past Town Administrator in Angola for 14 years. Before that he was a Teacher in Cape Verde. He was also the Director of the Information Department for Cape Verde Radio. In his free time he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, gardening and his pet dogs. He was an avid soccer fan, especially following Benfica. He was a loving family man who was close to his siblings, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Victor R. Rosa of Brockton, his daughters, Carla R. Rosa and Cristina R. Rosa both of Stoughton and his grandchildren, Claudia, Daniel, Brandyn and Naython. He is also survived by his siblings, Natin R. Carvalho of Cape Verde, Maria Luisa dePina and Maria Livramento Brandao both of Boston, Joaquim S. Rosa of Canton, Maria Graca Macedo and Augusto S. Rosa both of Stoughton and Francisco F. Rosa of DE as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Claudia Rosa and his brother, Adelino S. Rosa.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, November 9 at 9:15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:15 AM. Visiting Hours Tuesday & Wednesday 5-9 PM. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Stoughton.
