Joseph T. R. Richer 74 of Halsey Rd, died Saturday at home. He was the husband of Denise Richer, and was also the husband of the late Anne Marie Gufroy. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Theodule and Laura ( Pelletier) Richer. Mr. Richer retired from the Air Force as a Master Sergeant after 23 years of service. He was also a maintenance supervisor for the US Postal Service in Woonsocket for 17 years before retiring in 1992. Mr. Richer was also a member of Le Club Par-X.
Besides his wife, Mr. Richer is survived by three children, Peter Richer of Norwood MA, Diane Nadeau of Cumberland, and Marianne Beausoleil of Antrim NH, two stepchildren Ronald Richer of Woonsocket, and Rona Engstrom of NM, eleven grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He is also survived by a sister Claudette Paget Of Woonsocket, and was a brother of the late Marcel Richer.
His funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:30 from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St, with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 in St. Joseph’s Church. Burial will follow in St. John the Baptiste Cemetery.Visiting hours are Tuesday 6-8 pm.
