William "Jamie" Hutchins a lifelong resident of Charlestown, died unexpectedly on Monday October 30, 2006. He was 27 years old.
Jamie was born in Boston and grew up in Charlestown, where he attended Boston Public Schools and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1996. He worked in security At Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston for a few years before enlisting into the United States Army in February of 2003. He rose to the rank of Sergeant and served a tour of duty in The Iraq War. He was honorably discharged from the Army in Nov. of 2004. He then returned to work in security at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston till the present time.
Jamie is the beloved son of Paul D. Hutchins and the late Kathleen (Smith) Davis. Step-son of Wayne Davis. He is the loving fiance of Jessica Demers. He is the beloved grandson of Margaret Smith of Charlestown and the late William Smith. Devoted brother of Paul D. Hutchins of Charlestown, Lisa Grafton of Holbrook, Ann-Marie, William and Anthony Hutchins all of Dorchester. Step-brother of Brian Davis. Loving God-son of Paula Smith-MacDonald. Uncle of Kalyn Hutchins. Brother-in-law of Joanne Moody.
Jamie's Funeral will be held on Monday November 6, 2006 at 9 am. from The Carr Funeral Home 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown, followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 am. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours for Jamie will be on Sunday November 5, 2006 from 4 to 8 pm. Burial will take place at Woodlawn, Cemetery, Everett.
