Mary DiMare, of Medford, formerly of the West End, died Wednesday at the North End Community Nursing Home. She was 88.
Born in Italy, she was the daughter of the late Giuseppe and the late Alfia (Gianino) DiMare. Mary worked many years as a stitcher with Silins Manufacturing Co. in Boston, making aprons. She was a devoted aunt to her many nieces and nephews.
She was a devoted sister to Frances Matara and her husband Joseph, Domenic DiMare and his wife Margaret (Passanesi) all of Somerville, Joseph DiMare and his wife Betty Ann of CA, the late Josephine, James, John and Salvatore DiMare. She was a special aunt to 20 nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Saturday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 68 Cardinal O'Connell Way, Boston’s West End, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
