Mary Bennett Meeks, 94, died Tuesday, October 31, in Melbourne, Florida. She moved to Brevard County, Florida in 1991 from Cincinnati, Ohio.
Mrs. Meeks was born April 3, 1912, in Hazlehurst, Georgia to the late Archibald C. and Dora Leone Graham Bennett. She received her A.B. Degree from Georgia State College for Women in 1930. Mrs. Meeks taught school in Dodge County, Georgia. She had lived in Atlanta and New York City prior to relocating to Cincinnati. She was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Melbourne.
Mrs. Meeks is survived by a daughter & son-in-law: Marilyn & Lon Hixson of Palm Bay, FL and a sister: Jualice Simmons of Hazlehurst, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Malcolm Meeks.
Graveside services for the family will be held 12 Noon, Tuesday, November 7 in the Ocilla Cemetery, Ocilla, Georgia. The family requests charitable donations be given in her memory in lieu of flowers.
