
WORCESTER-Frank L. Davis, Jr., 83, of Worcester, passed away Wednesday, November 1st, in the Hospice Residence. His wife of 57 years, Evelyn C. (Carpenter) Davis, died in April. He leaves a son, Richard B. Davis and his wife Cynthia of Williamstown; 3 daughters, Frances E. Douglas and her husband Donald of East Orange, VT, Patricia A. Halpin and her husband John of Leicester and Gail M. Davis and her husband John of Worcester; a brother C. Rodney Davis of Hebron, NH; 9 grandchildren; a great-grandson and nephews and nieces.
He was born in Worcester, the son of Frank L. and Emily (Anderson) Davis and graduated from South High School. Mr. Davis worked for the City of Worcester Department of Public Works for 40 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church where he served on the Board of Trustees and the Tatnuck Island Club. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America for over 17 years as a member of the Troop Committee for Troop 3 and at the district level. His greatest pleasures in life were family, home and yard. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 4th, at 10:00 A.M. in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
