Amelia M. (Amici) Moran, 93, of Sun City Center, Florida formerly of Mansfield died on Tuesday October 31, 2006 at the Life Path Hospice House in Sun City Center, Florida. She was the beloved wife of the late Harry J. Moran Sr. who died on May 3, 2006.
Born in Mansfield, MA on July 9, 1913 she was a loving daughter of the late Augusto and Anna Marie (Mecozzi) Amici.
She was educated in Mansfield schools and had also attended trade schools. Mrs. Moran served as a dedicated homemaker to her family
Amelia was a former communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield. She was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the U.S. Marine Corps League in Norwood. Her late husband Harry had served in The U.S. Marines during WWII.
Her hobbies included cooking, sewing, shopping and knitting. She had lived in Florida for the past 23 years and was formerly of Mansfield. While living in Florida she had also made her home in Brandon.
She is survived by her devoted children Harry J. Moran, Jr. and his wife Mary of Valrico, Florida and Harriet J. Tuttle and her husband Patrick of Norton. She was the sister of Armando “Lefty” Amici of Norwood and the late Sherino Amici, Mae Mascuca, Italia Belli, Gina Westgate and Dena Simeoni. Also survived by her cherished 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Monday November 6th at 9:00 A.M. from the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield followed by a mass of Christian burial celebrated at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mansfield.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday November 5th from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the funeral home.
Following services on Monday an invitation has been extended to join with the family at the Rose Garden located behind St. Mary’s Church.
