East Bridgewater- Harry J. Reid, 71, of East Bridgewater, died Monday, Oct. 30, 2006, at Brockton Hospital. He was the husband of Janet (Isaacs) Reid.
Born April 14, 1935, in Boston, he was the son of the late Harry and Mary (White) Reid.
He was a graduate of Boston English High School and served with the U.S. Marine Corp.
Mr. Reid was a commercial furniture mover with Casey & Hayes for 21 years, retiring 9 years ago.
A member of St. John Church in East Bridgewater, he had been a resident of the town for the past 31 years, coming from Boston.
In addition to his wife, Janet, he was also father of Harry Reid III, Kim Ferranti and Robert Reid, all of East Bridgewater, Kristen Pauze of Carver, Karen Reed of Halifax and Kerry Reid of East Bridgewater; brother of Mary Chore of Albany, NY, Elizabeth Hunt and Peggy Quinn, both of Milton, Francis Reid of Hull and the late William and Robert Reid and Dorothy Dean. Also survived by 9 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
His Funeral will be held from the Wales-Prophett Funeral Home, 35 Spring St., East Bridgewater, Friday at 9:15 am, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John Church at 10. Visiting hours are Thursday 5-8 pm. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.
