Rita M. (Mahoney) Doyle, a former resident of Charlestown who has lived in Rochester, MA, for 30 years and previous lived in Waltham for 30 years, died on Sunday, October 28, 2006, at Seppican Health Care Center, in Marion, MA, after a lenthy illness. She was 90 years old.
Rita was born and raised in Charlestown where she attended Boston Public Schools and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1934. She served for a period of time as Librarian of the Charlestown Public Library. She was also a homemaker.
Rita is the beloved wife of Arthur L. Doyle. She is the devoted mother of Helen Byrne and her husband Richard of Accomac, VA, and Kathleen Karp of Mattapoisett. She is the loving grandmother of Christopher Byrne and his wife Sarah, Richard Byrne and his wife Emily, David Byrne and Susan and David Karp. She is the beloved aunt of Judith Feeney of Grafton.
Rita's Funeral will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2006, at 9:00 a.m. from the Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill Street, Charlestown, followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren Street, Charlestown, at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting Hours for Rita will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2006, from 6 - 8 p.m. Burial will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA.
