Francois W. DuBois 80 formerly of 429 East School St. died Monday in the Friendly Home. He was born in Woonsocket a son of the late Arthur and Agnes (Rawlins) DuBois. Mr. DuBois was a machine operator and loom fixer for the Hanora Lipitt Co. for many years he also worked for Best Textile in Pawtucket before retiring fifteen years ago. After his retirement he worked part-time for Travelers Transit driving the MA Pupil Transportation Vehicle. Mr. DuBois was a WWII Army Veteran and a Purple Heart Recipient. He was a member of the DAV, and VFW in Woonsocket. He was an avid bowler and pool player, he was a member of the Duckpin Bowling Assoc. and belonged to many leagues in Woonsocket area.
Mr. DuBois is survived by his lifetime companion and former wife Irene (Riquier) DuBois, five sons Richard F. DuBois of East Brookfield, MA, Robert A. DuBois of Vicksburg, MS, Dennis W. DuBois of Sharpsburg, GA, Ronald L. DuBois Sr. of Harbor Beach, MI, and William J. DuBois of White River Junction, VT. A daughter Francine S. DuBois of Woonsocket, a sister Muriel Henshaw of Garden Grove, CA, sixteen grandchildren, and twenty two great grandchildren. He was also the father of the late Thomas F. DuBois and brother of the late Arthur and Raymond DuBois and Carol Boulris.
His funeral will be held Friday at 9:00 am from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St. with a service in the Funeral Home at 10:00 am. Burial will be held in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham. Visiting hours are Thursday 7- 9 pm.
