Dorothy A. Hughes, 84 of Medford died Sunday after a long illness in the Lawrence Memorial Hospital Medford, MA.
Born in Boston, she lived most of her life in Medford and was the daughter of the late Mary Ann (Southwell) and James McCormick. Mrs. Hughes was a home maker and enjoyed being with her family.
Beloved wife of the late Thomas D. Hughes Jr. Devoted mother of Thomas D. Hughes and his wife Joyce of Everett, Janice Busalacchi and her husband Frank of Billerica, James L. Hughes and his wife Carol of Plymouth, Dennis P. Hughes and his wife Barbara of Malden, Raymond M. Hughes and his wife Ava of Peabody, Karen Hughes of Medford, John F. Hughes and his wife Ann of Billerica, Rosemary Hughes of Tewksbury, and Paul Hughes of Medford. Dear friend of Linda Jordan of Tewksbury. Also survived by 21 loving grandchildren and 18 loving great grandchildren. Sister of John, James, Frank, and Gerald McCormick, Mary Frye, Pauline Fritz and the late Geraldine Doherty, James, Paul, and Donald McCormick.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Thursday at 9:30 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden, at 10:30 AM.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8.
Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
