<>Harold L. Lewengrub, a longtime Randolph resident, passed away on Friday
October 27, 2006 after a period of failing health in the Hebrew Home, Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Boston. He was 97 years old.
Born July 26, 1909 in Chelsea, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Bernard and Helen (Polonch) Lewengrub.
Mr. Lewengrub attended Chelsea Public Schools and was a graduate of Chelsea High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
After serving his country honorably, he started a working career in the garment industry and was employed by the former Trimont Clothing Company at Roxbury Crossing for over 20 years. He had served as both a union organizer and a Shop Steward for the Clothing Workers of America.
He was an avid golfer and enjoyed reading in his spare time.
He is survived by his two nieces, Irene F. Borden of South Easton and Brenda R. Kantrovitz of Delray Beach, Florida. Also several great-nieces and great-nephews.
At his own request, visiting hours have been omitted and his funeral services will be private. Donations to the charity of one’s choice in Harold’s memory would be appreciated.
