Mr. Oscar Rossi, age 86, died Thursday October 26, 2006 in Weston after a lengthy illness. Oscar was the beloved husband of the late Adele (Favilla) who died in 2004. He was the devoted son of the late Zelinda (Martignoni) Rossi & Giuseppe Rossi.
Oscar was born in Pontremoli, Italy in 1920. After WW II Oscar came to the United States and settled in the West End of Boston. In 1959 he moved his family to Medford. Oscar was a chef and worked at the 1200 Beacon St. Restaurant in Brookline, Resevoir Club in Cambridge and the Holiday Inn, on Mass. Ave. in Cambridge. He retired in 1974 and enjoyed helping others with volunteer work.
In addition to his late wife and parents, Oscar is survived by his son Joseph Rossi and his wife Ann Louise of Newton. Loving grandfather of Loretta Cox and her husband Tim of West Roxbury, Elizabeth Morefield and her husband Jack of Brighton. Loving great grandfather of Emily, TJ, David and Alex. Brother of Anna Maria and the late Adele, Aurora, Anna Iside, Ada, Othello and Olizio.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD, Monday at 10 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday 4 - 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
