Manuel Souza. Age 92. Residence 2446 Highland Ave., Fall River, MA formerly of 3417 No. Main St., Fall River, MA. Died Tuesday at the Catholic Memorial Home. Born in Fall River, MA. Son of the late Joseph Souza and the late Anna (Brilliante) Souza. He was a lifelong resident of Fall River. Before retiring, he was a Presser in the local needle industry. He was a life member of the Military Order of the Cootie of the United States; the honor degree of the VFW; Past Commander of VFW Post #486 Francis Joseph Post. He was a member of the Shriners- 32nd. Degree and a member of the King Phillip Masonic Lodge; Grand order of the Sword of Bunker Hill, Gaspee Order #99 of Providence, RI and a member of the New England Grotto Association. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WW II serving in Iwo Jima and Okinawa from 1944-1945.
He is survived by: One Son: William Souza of Anchorage, Alaska. Two Daughters: Ann Braga of Ludlow, MA & Ruth Lima of Fall River, MA. Nine Grandchildren and 18 Great Grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Mary Gomes.
His funeral arrangements were private.
