Helga E. (Dunzinger) Stanley, 78, a long-time resident of Winchester, passed away on Sunday, October 15 in Lexington Health Care Center.
Born in Berlin, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Elisabeth (Winter) Dunzinger. She was an Administrative Assistant in the Winchester Public School system for over 30 years. She served in various locations, beginning at Parkhurst School. She then moved to Marycliff Academy and ultimately finished her career at Lynch School, which at that time was the central office of the school system.
In her spare time, Helga enjoyed quilting and was an excellent gourmet cook. She adored her cat Winston, who she affectionately referred to as her “second husband”.
She was the beloved wife of the late James W. Stanley and the devoted mother of Barbara Stanley of Belmont and Rupert Stanley of St. Johnsbury, VT. She was the dear sister of Dieter Dunzinger of Berlin, Germany. Helga is also survived by her grandchildren Ross and Laurel Stanley.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
