Obituary








Hazel E. (Gay) Henderson, 84, of Whitman died Monday October 23rd in her daughter’s home in East Bridgewater after a period of failing health. She was wife to the late John P. Henderson.

Born and brought up in Brockton, she attended Brockton Schools.

She has been a Whitman Resident since 1945.

She worked at the Excelsior laundry in Whitman Abrasive Products in Braintree and was a sales lady for Avon for many years.

Hazel was a member of the Whitman Fire Department ladies auxiliary.

She loved to bowl and belonged to the Thursday morning league at Timber Lanes, also doing crafts and going to craft shows.

She is survived by her son and two daughters, Jack Henderson of Plymouth ,Judy Beebe of Whitman and Gail Quaglieri of East Bridgewater, her brother Kenneth “Buddy” Gay of Foxboro her sister Shirley Compton of Maryland; also 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Her funeral will be held Saturday October 28th at 10:00 A.M. in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Route 58 at the Rotary Circle) Whitman, and burial will follow in the St. James Cemetery, Whitman, MA.
