Lillian Lindsey Purvis, 79, of Tifton, died Tuesday, October 24, 2006, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Earl Buckholts will officiate with burial to follow in Leila United Methodist Church Cemetery in Omega. John Allen Lindsey, Johnny Lindsey, Michael Crosby, Joey Lindsey, Tom Skinner and Freddy Jackson will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 25, 2006, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Ms. Purvis was born on May 7, 1927 in Lenox (Cook County) and was the daughter of Shelton G. Lindsey and Nancy Baker Lindsey, both deceased. She was a homemaker and of the Primitive Baptist faith.
Ms. Purvis is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Eddie Crosby of Adel; one brother, J. D. Lindsey of Tifton; two grandchildren, Heather Hinton and Michael Crosby; and three great grandchildren, Zack Hinton, Austin Crosby and Taylor Crosby.
