John T. “Jack” Chipman 56 of Norfolk died suddenly, Saturday October 21 in Caritas Norwood Hospital after suffering a heart attack at home. He was the husband of Jean (Caputo) Chipman.
Born in Boston February 25, 1950 the son of Lillian (Hogan) Chipman of Canton and the late Alfred Chipman, Mr. Chipman was raised in West Roxbury and had lived in Norfolk for the past 28 years.
He was a 1967 graduate of Xaverian Brothers High School in Westwood and a 1971 graduate of Boston College. A Certified Public Accountant, Mr. Chipman was the owner of the John T. Chipman Company of Norwood and Franklin.
Mr. Chipman was a member and past treasurer of the Franklin Knights of Columbus Sacred Heart Council. Mr. Chipman loved to read and to do home projects in his spare time. Quietly, but often and with great generosity, Mr. Chipman supported and helped many fundraising and charitable events in the area.
In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by his son Todd J. Chipman of Norfolk, his daughter Jodi L. Chipman of Stoneham. He is also survived by his sisters Lorraine Weafer of Norton, Maureen Bowler of Haverhill, and Barbara Smith of Canton and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held of Thursday October 26th from the Ginley Funeral Home (ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 892 Main Street Walpole at 9:00, followed by a funeral mass in St. Judes Church in Norfolk at 10:00. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery in South Walpole. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m.
