Obituary

Danvers: Colette M. (Deschamps) Mroz, age 80 of Danvers, died in Danvers, Friday October 20, 2006 following a long illness. She was the wife of the late Thaddeus E. ‘Ted’ Mroz.
Born September 16, 1926 in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Henry P. and Helena (Arsenault) Deschamps. A graduate of Ste. Chretienne Academy she was a resident of Salem before she and her husband moved to Danvers in 1953.
Colette was a devoted mother and grandmother who, in addition to raising 6 children, loved to garden and travel. She and her husband traveled extensively throughout the world. An avid sports fan, she enjoyed attending the sporting events of her children and grandchildren. Colette was also a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, Peabody and was a daily communicant at the Discalced Nuns Carmelite Monastery in Danvers.
She is survived by 5 daughters: Marcia Whatley and her husband Greg of Cuthbert, GA, Adele Mroz and her husband Michael Barrett of Lexington, Ky, Nadine Mroz of Providence, RI, Valerie Mroz of Danvers, Justine Hardy and her husband Kevin of Rockkport, a son: John Mroz and his wife Denise of Beverly, a brother Paul Deschamps and his wife Kay of Beverly, 9 grandchildren: Lauren & Lindsay Whatley, Meaghan & Kathleen Mroz-Barrett, Amanda & Bobby Ingersoll, Janet, Jay & Christopher Mroz. Mrs. Mroz is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral on Tuesday, October 24, 2006, at 9 am from the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem followed by her funeral mass in St. Thomas the Apostle Church the Salem / Peabody line at 10 am.
Visiting hours: Monday from 4 to 8 pm. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody.
