John A. Morris, 67, of New Bedford died Thursday October 19, 2006 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was the husband of Jeanette A. (Mason) Morris; they had been married for 45 years.
Born in Newport, Rhode Island, the son of the late Manuel J. and Mary (Andrews) Morris, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life.
He was the proprietor of John Morris Soda and Syrup Sales until his retirement.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1959-1962.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Melissa R. Frank and her husband Vincent of Hazlet, NJ; two brothers, Manuel Morris of Fort Washington, MD, and Peter Morris of Fall River; three sisters, Cecelia Morris of Minnesota, Veronica Henderson of Indiana, and Frances Young of Middletown, RI; two grandsons, Christopher and Nicholas Frank; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late David A. Morris, and brother of the late Monica Geddy, Joseph, Ignatius, and Alexander Morris.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 AM in St. Lawrence Church. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery.
