Mary Louise (Petitti) Dowling, a long-time Winchester resident, died peacefully at home on Friday, October 20, 2006, with her husband, William Dowling, and her children, Angela Diviney and Jack Trifero at her side.
Mary was born and educated in Boston and received her Associate Degree from the University of Connecticut. Throughout her life she was a dedicated wife and homemaker. She was the daughter of the late John F. Petitti and Grace Seminara Petitti. Her first husband was John G. Trifero. The past 15 years she shared a beautiful and loving marriage with her husband, William F. Dowling. Together they were avid theater goers and enjoyed ballroom dancing.
Mary is survived by her beloved husband, Bill and her children Angela L. Diviney and her husband Richard of Westport, CT and Jack Trifero and his wife Jan of New Canaan, CT. Mary was the dear sister of Joseph Petitti of Arlington, Rosalie Curcio of Belmont and the late John Petitti. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Andrew V. and Matthew V. Rosato and Alessandra and Isabella Trifero.
Her Funeral will be held from the Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester on Monday Oct. 23rd at 10AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church, Winchester at 11AM. Visiting hours will be held in the funeral home on Sunday from 2-5PM Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to St. Mary’s Church, 158 Washington St., Winchester, MA 01890 or to The Susan G.
